Hi folks.We have several cards missing.If these matches have been played would you please return the cards to me asap. If these matches have not been played would you please note that rule 23 states "All fixtures postponed must be fulfilled within 14 days of the due date or at the discretion of the committee.Any defaulting teams may be barred from the league for the following season. Fixture Secretary to be notified of the re-arranged match". I would be grateful if any matches postponed are played within the two weeks.If you are struggling to get the matches played please contact me.

To all team captains.To clear up any confusion on why we fill in and sign two result cards. It is because each team captain is responsable for the return of their own cards as per rule 7 of the St Austell Euchre League.The reson being that if one card goes missing ie lost in the post hopefully we should receive the other card.
Euchre.:-Played in many places around the world, with many variations of play. In fact there is a difference in the way of playing between St Austell, Newquay and Truro. I won't delve into the various ways of playing, but instead will just be concentrating on our League.
The St Austell and District Euchre League covers an area in Cornwall from Fowey to Lostwithiel, Lanivet, Roche, St Dennis, Probus and Mevagissey.
Our League is based on 1 to 6 sections depending on how many teams enter at the start of the season. The League is not run on a promotion and relegation system. Instead the teams that have entered are all fed into a computer and randomly sorted into sections. We find that the League players prefer doing it this way as the teams usually get to play at different venues each season, meet new players and maybe meet old friends that they haven't seen for a season or two.
The majority of our teams are made up of local Pubs and Clubs, or anywhere where there is alcoholic beverage consumed and most establishments are kind enough to supply a light snack of sandwiches and things at the end of the match.
Would all team captains please contact me if you have to cancel a match, preferably at least 24 hours before the match has to be played so that I can let your opposition know in good time so they in turn can inform their own team members.

For those people who do not like answering machines a short message will do for instance "Chris please ring (Your Tel No) about euchre"and i will ring you back when i can.Please do not rely on ringing the club or pub as the message does not always get passed on to the relevent team captain
